Award's Ceremony Protocol

  • Participation is strongly encouraged (especially for champions and reserve champions), but not mandatory.

  • Ribbons/awards MUST be picked up PRIOR to the awards ceremony.

  • Ribbons/awards and tests can be picked up at the Awards Area in the Show Office.

  • Riders not intending to participate in their awards ceremony must notify the VADA representative when picking up the ribbon.

  • Arrive in the small warmup area adjacent to the Anderson Coliseum five (5) minutes prior to your designated award ceremony time.

  • Riders/horses must be in proper show attire, with ribbons on the RIGHT side of the bridle. Leg wraps are permitted.

  • Riders may choose to participate in the ceremony on any horse, but the horse and rider must be in proper show attire as described above.

  • Unmounted riders (without horse) are permitted with prior permission from the Awards Coordinator. The rider must be in proper show attire.

  • All riders participating in an awards ceremony will have their photo taken and will then have the opportunity to participate in a victory lap should they so choose or may exit the coliseum prior to the victory lap.
