Qualifying Event for 2026 Nutrena/USDF Breeders Championship East Coast Series
​
The 2026 Nutrena/USDF Breeders Championship Series is a national program designed to recognize quality bloodlines and dressage prospects through in-hand and materiale classes. For the East Coast Series, the qualifying event is part of the Dressage at Lexington show at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, VA.

New for 2026! Performance High Score Awards for Selected Breeds

The Sporting Horse Amateur Challenge
The Sporting Horse Amateur Challenge (SHAC) recognizing competitors up to sixth place. Embroidered saddle pads are awarded from second to sixth place. First place winner will receive a scrim sheet.

DAL Challenge
The four (4) DAL Challenge Classes will be pinned up to eighth place.
​
Maestro Cup - Grand Prix (Sponsored by Pete Jean Wyllie, Cumber Farm)
The Maestro Cup offers prize money awarded up to sixth place. The winner will receive a keeper cup accompanied by a dress sheet. The distribution of prize money is as follows: 1st Place - $2,500; 2nd Place -$2,000; 3rd Place - $1,500; 4th Place - $1,000; 5th Place - $500 and 6th Place - $250.​

Trainer Award in Honor of Debbie Rodriguez
Founder of Dressage at Lexington
Registration must be completed at the show office by noon on Friday, 10 July 2026. Student scores will be averaged from both Friday and Saturday classes. Each trainer is required to have at least two students. Eligible classes mirror those for DAL Daily High Score awards; classes such as musical freestyle, materiale, opportunity, etc., are not permitted. The winner will be announced during the competitor party on Saturday evening.

Carter Bass Memorial High Score Award
An accomplished horsewoman, Carter competed through the Grand Prix level, winning multiple Regional Championships and earning the US Dressage Federation Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals on her homebred Oldenburg horse Gossamer, a horse she bred, raised, and trained. She was also an in-hand competitor, winning many Championships, including Dressage at Devon, with her own homebred horses and handling for other owners.
What a better way to leave a lasting legacy in her honor, "Carter Bass Memorial High Score Award". Awarded to the highest scoring horse shown in hand in the USDFBC Open Classes.

(Freestyle scores are excluded in other high percentage awards.)
Dressage at Lexington is awarding High Score ribbons to the following breeds: Danish Warmblood, Dutch Warmblood (including KWPN), German Riding Pony, Hanoverian, Iberian Warmblood (Andalusian, Lusitano, PRE), Oldenburg (GOV, ISR), Thoroughbred, Westphalian.
The breed-specific ribbon will be awarded to the horse with the highest score based on scores received on Friday and Saturday. Musical Freestyle, Opportunity, Intro, Young Horse, and Para classes are excluded. Registration papers with the horse's entered name must be submitted to be eligible. At least 6 horses must compete for each breed to be considered. Breed organization membership is not required. Determination of the eligible breeds is based on the breeds with at least 6 horses from the previous year’s results.
